    Alexandra works as Programme Coordinator for environment, climate change & biodiversity for Soka Gakkai International (SGI), a community-based Buddhist organization that promotes peace, culture and education. Her work focuses on the UN processes related to the environment, climate change and biodiversity. Based in Geneva, she is advocating from the perspective of human rights, public participation, and environmental and social justice. She is also a member of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration Advisory Board and a co-convenor of the Faiths for Biodiversity coalition.

    Harjeet is a global expert on the issues of climate impacts, migration and adaptation and has been supporting countries across the world on tackling climate change. He is also Senior Advisor – Climate Impacts at Climate Action Network – International (CAN-I). Until recently, he has led ActionAid International’s climate change work globally.

    Meryne Warah is the climate change specialist and serves as Global Director of Organizing of GreenFaith.
    Meryne is a passionate and visionary leader who is on a mission to create a more just and sustainable world. She has over 10 years of experience in managing and implementing projects on gender, environment, and climate change across Africa. She has worked with diverse stakeholders, including inter-religious groups, civil society organizations, government agencies, and international partners, to advocate for policies and practices that promote social and ecological justice.
    Meryne is based in Kenya.

    Rev. Bhagwan is an ordained minister of the Methodist Church in Fiji. Appointed by the General Assembly in 2018 he has been active in reviving PCC relationships, recruiting new partners and increasing the organisation’s visibility as well as introducing a five-year strategic plan. Rev Bhagwan holds a Bachelor of Divinity from the Pacific Theological College and a Masters in Theology from Korea.

    Henrik has worked at the national office of Church of Sweden since year 2000, and as member of ECEN (European Christian Environmental Network) steering committee since 2005 and World Council of Churches (WCC) working group on climate change since 2006. He has been in the planning group of the Uppsala Interfaith Climate Summit (2008) and in the working group that drafted the Church of Sweden Bishops conference bishops letter on Climate Change 2014/2019. He has been a delegate in the WCC delegation to UNFCCC COPs since 2006 and the head of the delegation since 2016.

This session will introduce the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty and its three pillars: an immediate end to new fossil fuel projects, an equitable phaseout of existing production, and commitments by historic polluters to a just transition.
